The genius prince : vol 7 chapter 21

"... Is it on the lake side?"

"It's concentrated here, and... in the north district."

Narsila is a city on the shores of Lake veil. The northern part of the city is adjacent to the lake and is still actively used for water transportation.  This water transport is the lifeline for Narsila, and restriction would cause a major backlash. Therefore, even under the occupation of the Baldrosh army, the northern part of the city was left largely unrestricted.

"Call out all personnel now. The location is in the north. I'm going to check the area first."

"Wait a minute. The residents will be enraged if we put our hands into that area without proper care. Especially if the captain is alone. "

"We don't have a moment to lose. Hurry!"

".... Oh, God! Don't do anything rash until everyone is here!"

The men rushed out of the station. Glenn also wore his cloak and went out with a sword on his waist.

When Glenn arrived at the city center in the northern district, it was as bustling as ever

In addition to the marine products caught in Lake Veil, water transportation is also a result of the distribution of products to and from other cities adjacent to the lake. It is much more convenient than land transportation.

(The problem is that security is so neglected as not to interfere with that free trade.)

Of course it's Lake Veil, a key imperial site. It is not a situation where bandits can run rampant. But that doesn't mean there is zero room for the unscrupulous or the unwary to enter.

"Excuse me. Have you seen anyone suspicious or unfamiliar around here?"

Glenn asked the owner of a nearby fruit stall. Glenn had no idea about Narsila , so he had no choice but to ask around and see what he could find.

"Well, that's right in front of me, though." The man shrugs.

Glenn picked up one of the berries and handed him a silver coin.

" Except me and my kind of soldiers."

"Well, after all, people are always coming and going by boat around here."

"Have you heard of His Highness Baldrosh holding a baptismal ceremony?"

"Yes, I have heard of it. I remember the sailors talking about it around the docks."

"A ship. ...... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt."

"It's all right. Here, take another one while you're at it."

Glen walked further north through the city, fruit in hand, as the shopkeeper told him to buy a whole box next time. After walking for a while, he arrives at the dock.

There were sailors coming and going with their luggage, merchants inspecting their cargo, and people fishing. Glen took a quick look around, and then stepped over to a couple of sailors who were hanging around doing nothing.

"I'm sorry, I have something to ask."

The sailors' coarse glances turn to Glenn. " What are you, a military man? This is no place for you."

"If you answer the question, I'll leave here right away."

"Answer the question and I''ll leave right now.."

"Tch. You’re starting to get annoying, dude.” Glen refused to back down. The air was starting to get heavy. One of the sailors eyed the fruit in Glen’s hands.

"We’ll tell you anything if you can show us a trick with that piece of fruit "

"With this?"

"Oh, yeah. Or was that too much for a soldier who can only wield a sword?" The sailors laughed uproariously.

Glenn did not respond, but looked at them and the fruit in his hand, then gave a small laugh.

"So don't miss it. "

"a?"

Glenn tossed the fruit into the sky. The sailors' gazes all look upward, and a moment later, Glenn kicks the ground. He then strikes a defenseless sailor in the stomach with the bottom of his palm, and simultaneously strikes the jaw and leg of another sailor. The rest of the sailors reacted, but before they could react, Glenn was in their midst and slammed them to the ground, wrapping his arms around them.

"It hurts ..."

"Damn, this guy!"

"Tsu, you ...!"

In an instant, the sailors were knocked to the ground. Looking down at them, Glenn picked up a piece of fruit that had fallen from the sky and said, "I told you not to miss it."

"You son of a bitch, you've got to be kidding me!" Glenn shoved the fruit into the sailor's mouth, who was still trying to eat it.

"I'm sorry, but I don't have time to continue, but next time I'll definitely will broken one or two bones ."

As Glen said this, his face had a terrible look on it. He was definitely younger than they were. Even though they knew this, the sailors gasped and gave in.

"Wow, I get it, we were wrong.  So please forgive me ...!"

"Sure, as I said in the beginning, as long as you answer the question, that's all that matters."

"Hey, what is it? We're not going to be stared at by soldiers tomorrow."

"No. Have you heard rumors that Prince Baldrosh will have a coronation ceremony?"

The sailors look at each other.

"Do you know?"

"I don't know. I don't care about the emperor."

" I've heard that Prince baldrosh is going to be emperor because he beat up Prince Demetrio. " Glenn's eyes turn to the sailor who replied.

"Where did you hear that?"

" I think it was a guy on one of the boats. ..."

"Do you know where he is?" The sailor shook his head.

"Do you know how many boats come and go every day? I can't remember who's on the other boat."

Glenn thought about it.

(It is highly possible that the spread of rumors began at this dock. But we need time to find out who has been in and out of this place. If there is a clue in the footsteps somewhere ......)

At times like this, I get fed up with my own lack of brains. My friends from my school days would have been quick to come up with an idea and move on to the next step. But now they are not with me. The days when all you had to do was follow them are gone.

"Hey, are you looking for something suspicious?" Suddenly, one of the sailors spoke up.

"Well, I guess so,"

"Well, then, you might want to check out the warehouse district over there "

The sailor pointed to an area close to the pier where a number of warehouses were located. These are places to temporarily store the cargo that has been brought in or is scheduled to be brought in.

"It's rare to find warehouses empty because of conscription, and there are no goods anywhere, but recently I've seen a few guys wandering around there in the middle of the night."

Assuming that the lackey who spread the rumor exists, one would think that he would try to act as inconspicuously as possible.

Furthermore, the dock would be an ideal escape route. If so, there is a good chance that they have secured a place to hide in the vicinity of the landing site.

"I was grateful hear information. Thank you."

After handing over the silver coins to the sailors, Glen headed for the warehouse district. There were warehouses of all sizes, and perhaps because the sun was still high in the sky, there were a good number of people in the warehouse district.

He looked around to see if there was anyone suspicious, but as expected, there was no one with a suspicious appearance.

(In that case, I have no choice but to search the warehouses one by one ...?)

It might be a good idea to stay here and wait for subordinates to come to him.The first time he thought of this, Len's eyes caught something out of the corner of his eye.

"That was ......."

Without hesitation, he swung his sword and broke open the wooden door of the warehouse. Kicking the dusty wooden door open, he steps inside. The smell of mold and dust. There is no light in the warehouse, and the light coming in through the entrance only slightly illuminates the area. As his eyes adjust to the darkness, he sees a figure standing there.

"It's you after all. ..."

Glenn wasn't upset. Rather, it is understandable that it sprouted in his chest.

"I finally managed to swallow the situation, which means it's all his plan. Right?  Ninym "

There stood Ninym Ralei, her white hair fluttering and her red eyes shining in the darkness.

"I don't know what you're talking about,"

Like Glenn, Ninym did not seem to be shaken by the situation. she was as calm as usual when she saw her friend suddenly step into the warehouse.

"I don't care if you do." Glenn smiled a little, feeling nostalgic at the sight of his friend.

He attended the same military academy and spent time with her. Ninym asks for help to stop Wayne's outburst, and Glen once asked for advice on a gift for his fiancée.

Their friendship is still enduring.

"Either way, we're still going to catch him."

As if it were a matter of course, the two pointed their blades at each other.

"What's the charge, by the way?"

"I'm going to decide after we catch him. "

"That is terrible story."
