Classroom of the Elite Vol 17 : Ch 1 Cost of victory
The unanimous special exam ended on September 20th, with Saturdays and Sundays in between.
I woke up around 6:30 a.m., turned on the TV, and started preparing breakfast.
A new Monday has arrived, but life will be very different from last week.
I don't need to guess why this is the case. There are two main factors that have dropped shadows. However, there are two main factors that have cast a shadow on them. The exposure of the driven Kushida caused a rift in the classmates' relationship.
The premise of limiting the expulsion of students to only traitors, i.e., Kushida.
The thing is that the reversal of the conditions, the trust of me and Horikita is fluctuating.
Whether to drop out of school or not? In that choice, I promised to expel only the traitor, and got everyone to vote in favor of expulsion.
Then, I used the previous strategies to push Kushida into a corner, and after getting her to confess to being a traitor, I carried out my plan to expel her from the school.
Kushida received support from students who wanted to believe in her and those who had feelings for her, but she eventually lost their trust when she revealed her true nature and started revealing their secrets.
she was one step closer to being expelled from the school, but then something unexpected happened. After knowing everything, Suzune Horikita said that Kushida was a necessary human resource for the class.
To top it all off, she even said that she would never agree to expel Kushida. Originally, it was I who promised that only traitors would be expelled from school, and Horikita was merely agreeing to it.
I was surprised that Horikita still defended Kushida, even though it was only me who had promised to expel only traitors.
With the little time left, the choice was to keep Kushida and accept the penalty of the exam, or to have someone other than Kushida expelled and clear the exam.
In any case, as I mentioned earlier, who changed her policy, and in me, who accepted the change and announced that others would be expelled, was greatly shaken.
Those who have been exposed for a faint love and are genuinely hurt. Those who have heard bad things about their friends and become suspicious.
Those who have lost friends and resent their friends. The reasons for the seriousness of the situation in the class are too numerous to mention.
However, the effects related to the exposure were not a problem to be panicked about, but something that had been planned from the beginning. It was a necessary expense that could not be avoided in order to bring down Kushida, who is a trustworthy person.
If you consider this as a mere demerit, it's easy to talk about. But I don't see it that way. If you look at it that way, you can't gain experience. It is a lost opportunity to miss a chance to grow.
Out of the four classes, we were the only ones who were expelled. My classmates were deeply hurt .In exchange for that, I got class points. no. It is important to change the perspective of the situation.
Instead of ending with "hurt," look beyond that.
We must assume that because we were hurt, we had the opportunity to strengthen our bond.
By doing so, Horikita's class can become even stronger.
It's unclear how many students are aware of this, but anyway, we have to confront the problem without running away from it.
The special exams for the Horikita class are still ongoing.
The weight of 100 class points, preciousness. It's just a good way to reflect and know your actions.
Of course, if left unchecked, the students may end up in the swamp, so caution is required. If left unchecked, the wound could spread further.
After breakfast, I checked my phone with my toothbrush in hand.
There seems to have been no new communication since I looked at it in the middle of the night.
It was an ending that was not originally planned, and I am still surprised that the special exam took an unexpected turn. From various perspectives such as rationality, consistency, and objectivity, There was no choice but to drop out of Kikyo Kushida, who had thrown the school into chaos.
The decision to expel Kikyo Kushida was the least damaging to the class and would allow the students to shift their focus to the sport festival immediately.
From my subjective point of view, Horikita's choice of "not expelling the traitor Kikyo Kushida" is non-existent, irrational, and a mistake.
Despite feeling that it was a clear mistake, I supported Horikita and steered the class in the direction of expelling Airi. In other words, they chose to surrender to irrational failures.
At least, it was a choice I would never have made before coming to this school. Then, what is the reason for accepting it now?
Suzune Horikita had stronger feelings for Kushida than other students. A close friend, if such an expression is not correct, but for Horikita, Kushida was definitely a special person. It is natural to want to keep someone who is special to you, but if you base your judgment on that, it will be unfair.
However, it would be unfair to judge based on such a standard.
Haruka, who was a close friend of Airi's, is a good example. For Haruka, it was Kushida who persisted in the option of expelling students, who was bad and should be eliminated. Also, I and Horikita were talking on the premise of eliminating this particular person.
That is why she voted to expel the students herself.
Despite this, her best friend expelled from school due to Horikita's preferential treatment of Kushida. Even if they say, "Let's start working hard again next week," it is hard to accept that.
But we must not forget that Horikita's choice was not an easy one either.
In that special exam, where she had to make a difficult choice, Horikita made her answer clear.
She took the risk of putting herself in the spotlight and declared that she would retain Kushida.
This alone would have been an impossible decision for an ordinary student. Horikita was prepared to be pointed at as unfair, but she believed that keeping Kushida was for the "good of the class.
